Dr. J. Robert Flamini is a board-certified child neurologist with more than three decades of experience in epilepsy care. A trusted name in Atlanta neurology, he is recognized for his expertise in diagnosing and treating seizure disorders in patients of all ages, from infants to adults. At RP Epilepsy Clinic, Dr. Flamini brings specialized expertise in complex and treatment-resistant epilepsies, including Dravet syndrome, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, and other developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. Having served as principal investigator on more than 100 clinical trials—including pivotal studies that led to new FDA-approved therapies for these conditions—he offers patients deep knowledge of the latest treatment options alongside thoughtful, individualized care. Dr. Flamini earned his medical degree from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, followed by his neurology residency and pediatric neurology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin, as well as advanced epilepsy training at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Board certified in pediatrics and neurology with special qualification in child neurology, Dr. Flamini previously served as Medical Director of The Children’s Epilepsy Center at Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center and led PANDA Neurology and the Clinical Integrative Research Center of Atlanta (CIRCA). His groundbreaking research has been published in leading medical journals, including The Lancet, The New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet Neurology, and Neurology.
